Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Slip-Trailed Cobalt Decoration, New Jersey origin, circa 1850, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed looping line design accented with flourishes, the reverse inscribed "2.G." surrounded by flourishes. Rim chips. Sealed Y-shaped crack on underside, connecting to a 7" crack extending up from base.
