One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and semi-squared rim, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Large T-shaped crack on front, which has been partially covered over with ochre paint.
