Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug, Stamped "THOMAS D. CHOLLAR / CORTLAND," NY State origin, circa 1840, highly ovoid jug with thick spout, decorated with a cobalt foliate design, the number 2 and cobalt brushwork across the maker's mark. Restored 1 1/2" spout chip. Dry contact mark near base on reverse.
