Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "E.J. MILLER / ALEXANDRIA, VA," Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with freehand stripes and a brushed "3" with flourishes, the center featuring the stenciled cobalt advertising "E.J. MILLER & CO / DEALERS IN / CHINA AND / GLASS WARE / ALEXANDRIA. VA". Drips on paint to surface. Dryness to surface. Chip to base on reverse. Chip to end of one handle.
