Six-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO / PA," circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with freehand cobalt stripes and vining, various stenciled flourishes, and a brushed "6" flanked by dashes at the base. Some fry to cobalt. Y-shaped crack on reverse, extending onto underside. Chip to end of one handle.
