Scarce Five-Gallon Palatine, WV Stoneware Jar with Stenciled Horse Decoration, circa 1875, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, featuring the boldly-stenciled slogan "PALATINE POTTERY CO. / PALATINE, / W. VA." surrounding a stenciled rearing horse. Desirable size and decoration. Crisp stenciling. 1 5/8" handle chip. Otherwise excellent condition.
