Rare Glazed Redware Jar with Slip Floral Decoration, New England origin, second quarter 19th century, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flaring collar, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large brown slip tulip over a colorful reddish and honey-colored ground. An unusual jar with a form and decoration more typical of stoneware from the region. Rim chips. Wear to interior of rim. 4" hairline from rim to left of right handle. 1 1/4" in-the-firing base chip and some smaller base chips. Wear to surface. H 9 1/2".
