Scarce Ovoid Stoneware Jug with Incised Bird Decoration, Stamped \\\"I. SEYMOUR & CO. / TROY,\\\" New York State origin, circa 1830, approximately two-gallon ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with an incised design of a long-tailed bird with impressed circular eye, perched on a stylized leaf. Decoration filled with cobalt slip. Provenance: Lynn White Collection, Readfield, ME. As-made condition with a 1 1/4\\\" stone ping on side of jug. H 13 3/4\\\".
