Molded Salt-Glazed Stoneware Stump Planter, Stamped "F.B. NORTON & CO. / WORCESTER, MASS.," circa 1870, molded cylindrical form resembling a tree stump, with raised bark, knot holes, and ivy. Branch-form handles at the shoulders. Surface covered in brown slip and salt-glaze. Impressed with Frank Norton maker's mark on underside. Near mint condition with a few minor rim chips. H 8".
