Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, tall-collared jar with handles, decorated with a stylized slip-trailed floral design. Crack in underside, continuing 7" up reverse of jar. Cracks in underside. Some spider lines in surface. Large base chip. One rim chip and one handle chip. Stained spots. H 11 1/4".
