Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "J. & E. NORTON / BENNINGTON, VT.," circa 1855, cylindrical jug with sloped shoulder and squared spout, decorated with a stylized slip-trailed cobalt floral motif. Two salt drips and flake off shoulder. Base chip. A few spout nicks and a 3/8" line on edge of spout. H 14 1/2".
