Buffalo, NY Stoneware Advertising Jug, possibly Red Wing, MN origin, late 19th century, shoulder jug with Bristol slip body and Albany slip shoulder, decorated with a script cobalt "3" and the cobalt advertising "ERIE DISTILLING CO. / 82 GENESEE ST. / BUFFALO, N.Y." 11 1/4" vertical crack on reverse. Chips on interior of spout. Two chips to shoulder. 4" line on underside, extending 2 1/2" left side of jug. In-the-firing wrinkles in clay on underside. Small flake on underside connecting to a 1 3/4" line at base. H 16".
