Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jar, Rockingham Co., VA origin, circa 1875, ovoid jar with thick rounded rim, decorated around the shoulder with five brushed cobalt 2's indicating the capacity. 1 1/4" flake off underside. Tiny chip on interior of rim. Separation line on underside 3 1/2" hairline extending up from base. Small base chip and a few in-the-firing base chips. H 9".
