Six-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Crock, Strasburg, VA origin, circa 1880, large-sized cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-squared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a brushed cobalt swag and hanging flower design around the shoulder. Impressed "6" below the rim. Rim chips. Chip to one handle. 3" x 3/4" shallow flake off underside at edge, presumably in-the-firing. A few base chips. H 16 3/4".
