One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Tulip and Vine Decorations, Western PA origin, circa 1875, cylindrical jug with rounded shoulder and tooled spout, decorated with an unusual freehand design of two leafy stems, with one ending in a large three-petaled tulip. Brushed cobalt band at base. Unusual decoration for this form. Crudely restored handle. Tiny stone ping on top edge of spout. H 11 3/4".
