Two-Gallon Stoneware Cake Crock with Stenciled Rose Decoration, Stenciled "HAMILTON & JONES / GREENSBORO, PA," circa 1875, low, cylindrical form with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with Hamilton & Jones stenciling surrounding a stenciled rose with flourishes. Freehand stripes below rim and at base. Stenciled "2" with flourishes at base. Bloated spots to surface. Handle chip. Lines in underside. H 7 3/4" ; Diameter 9 1/2".
