Scarce Three-Gallon Western PA Stoneware Crock, Stenciled "A. CONRAD. / MONONGAHELA / POTTERY. / NEW GENEVA / PA," circa 1875. cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with unusual "MONONGAHELA POTTERY" stenciling, along with cobalt brushwork below the rim and at the handle terminals, and a bold stenciled 3 at the base. One handle chip. Otherwise mint condition. H 13 5/8".
