Elaborately-Molded and Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Pitcher, German origin, late 19th century, narrow pitcher with bulbous midsection and pewter lid, featuring a raised oak leaf pattern surrounding a depiction of King Bacchus, highlighted in cobalt. Underneath Bacchus is a banner with German slogan. Midsection of pitcher features checkerboard-like cobalt decoration. Footed base is embellished with extensive molded geometric design, highlighted in cobalt. Mint condition. H (to thumbrest) 14".
