Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt House Decoration, Stamped "A.O. WHITTEMORE / HAVANA, NY," circa 1850, semi-ovoid jar with rounded shoulders and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed cobalt house with two chimneys, settled on a lawn of cobalt dashes between curled trails of grass or shrubs. Significant flaking to surface. Chip to exterior of rim. Chipping to interior of rim where a lid would rest. H 10 1/2".
