Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Cake Crock with Lid, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA," circa 1870, with tooled shoulder and applied handles, decorated on the front and back with a brushed cobalt leaf design and under each handle with a wavy cobalt line. Impressed under one handle with Richard Clinton Remmey maker's mark. Includes cobalt swag decorated lid. Restored handle. Touch-up to decoration. Restored crack from rim. Some short hairlines from rim. Glazed-over base chip. Lid with chips to edge and flange on underside. Glazed-over chip to knob. Salt glob on edge of lid. H (of crock) 7" ; Diameter 11 1/2".
