Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Butter Crock, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA," circa 1870, with tooled shoulder and ribbed handles, decorated front and back with a brushed cobalt leaf design, and under each handle with dashed cobalt brushwork. Impressed with Richard Clinton Remmey maker's mark under one handle. 3" hairline from rim on one side and a 2" hairline from rim on opposite side. 1/2" crack in rim. Tiny rim nick. H 5 1/4" ; Diameter 8 1/2".
