Scarce Stoneware Mug with Impressed Gnome Decoration, attributed to the Wingender Pottery, Haddonfield, NJ, early 20th century, with cobalt highlighted bands below rim, at base, and along molded handle. Mug is decorated with impressed and cobalt highlighted designs of dancing gnomes holding steins. Includes pewter lid with heart-shaped thumb rest. Handle, form, and color, are consistent with the work of the Wingenders of Haddonfield, NJ. Based on similarity in style, this mug was likely made about the same time as the Wingender's popular "Indian King" mugs. Small chip to ball-shaped molding on handle. Dents to lid. H (excluding lid) 4 3/8".
