Rare Small-Sized Stoneware Script Butter Crock with "Fancy Creamery Butter" Advertising, attributed to the Fulper Pottery, Flemington, NJ, late 19th or early 20th century, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder and semi-rounded rim, featuring the cobalt-script advertising, "Fancy Creamery Butter. / From J. Robbins & Son. / This Crock not sold.," over a Bristol slip ground. J. Robbins & Son were grocers operating out of Bay Shore, Long Island, New York. Desirable subject matter, form, and size. A few small rim chips, some minor rim nicks, and a faint 5/8" line to exterior of rim, not visible on interior. H 6 1/2" ; Diam. 7 1/2".
