Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, Northeastern origin, early 19th century, both of ovoid form with flared rim and applied lug handles, including a two-gallon jar decorated with six brushed dashes on front and reverse, Hudson River Valley, NY, origin; and a one gallon jar brush-decorated with a stylized butterfly on front, Northeastern origin. Provenance: Warren F. Hartmann Collection. Minor damage to both including small chips, hairline cracks, and firing imperfections. Butterfly jar with a few, small filled rim chips. H (of tallest) 10 1/2".
