Three Stoneware Canning Jars with Cobalt Stripe Decoration, Western PA origin, circa 1880, all of related cylindrical form with recessed "wax sealer" rims, each decorated with three freehand stripes. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. Shortest with rim chips. Second shortest with rim chips, grease staining, and two lines, one of which is Y-shaped, descending from rim to shoulder. Tallest with a 3" x 1" flake to underside extending to bottom edge, two chips to interior of rim, and a 1" chip to inner wax sealer rim. H (of shortest) 6 1/4".
