Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "F. STETZENMEYER. / ROCHESTER.N.Y.," circa 1855, cylindrical jar with tooled shoulder, flared rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a daisy plant with bull's-eye center and large leaves with heavy striping. Slip-trailed script "3" to shoulder. Cobalt accent to maker's mark. A chip to front of rim. Scattered exfoliation to side, extending onto reverse. Minor exfoliation below decoration. A minor nick to inner rim for lid. Staining to surface. A few flakes to underside. H 13 1/2".
