One-Gallon Stoneware Ship Chandler's Advertising Jug, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1875, squat-shaped jug with tooled spout, featuring the impressed and cobalt-accented advertising, "P F SCHMINKE & CO / GROCERS & SHIP CHANDLERS / 68 BOSTON STREET / BALTIMORE." Essentially as-made condition with an in-the-firing contact mark to shoulder and reverse and a small in-the-firing chip to shoulder. H 11".
