Six-Gallon Stoneware Crock with Elaborate Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "WHITES.UTICA.NY," circa 1875, cylindrical crock with tooled shoulder, semi-rounded rim, and applied lug handles, decorated with a large slip-trailed design of a flowering plant featuring detailed, spade-shaped leaves. Pedestaled wreath motif surrounding the maker's mark. Water glass staining to interior. A thin, 8" fork-shaped crack on underside, including one crack extending 5 3/4" up reverse. A 3" X-shaped line on underside forming a thin 4" x 2 1/2" cross -shaped line at base on front. A 3 1/4" Y-shaped line on underside, not visible on interior. Water glass staining to interior. Minor water glass staining to exterior. A few minor chips to exterior of rim. A minor chip and minor flake to interior of rim. H 13 1/2".
