Three Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, American, fourth quarter 19th century, a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, featuring a stenciled floral motif below a freehand stripe; a canning jar with "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled maker's mark, "THOMPSON / WILLIAMS / & CO. / MORGANTOWN . W.VA;" and a cylindrical jar with brushed manganese swag decoration, attributed to S. Bell & Sons, Strasburg, VA. Floral-stenciled jar with a 1 1/4" in-the-firing base flake, small base chips, a 1 3/4" horizontal line at base, a 1 3/8" rim chip, and small chips to inner rim for lid. Morgantown jar with brown in-the-firing residue to front, oversalting to surface, a smooth in-the-firing contact mark to reverse, and a small chip to inner rim for lid. Bell jar in excellent condition with some residue on underside. H (of tallest) 8 1/2".
