Manganese-Decorated Redware Jar, Northeastern U.S. origin, circa 1840, squat-shaped, ovoid jar with footed base, applied lug handles, and heavy tooling to shoulder and rim, the lead-glazed surface decorated with manganese splotches against a green ground with heavy orange spotting. Nicks and wear to rim. A 1 1/2" surface line from rim, not visible on interior. A minor nick to shoulder molding. Some surface wear around midsection. A small, glazed-over ping to one side. A 2" diagonal surface line to opposing side, not visible on interior. Scratches to interior. H 8 5/8".
