Large-Sized Stoneware Lidded Jar with Garden of Eden Motif, Signed "Marvin Bailey," SC origin, 21st century, ovoid jar with arched lug handles and flared rim, featuring hand-modeled and applied decoration of Adam and Eve by the Tree of Knowledge with snake coiled around its trunk. Glazed blue, green, and red over a mottled brown ground. Lid with hand-modeled Devil figure, glazed red. Provenance: Carl and Marian Mullis Collection; On long-term loan to Colonial Williamsburg, 2019 to 2023. Excellent, essentially as-made condition. H (including lid) 30".
