Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Canning Jar with Jackson Courthouse, WV Advertising, Western PA origin, circa 1880, cylindrical jar with rounded shoulder and semi-rounded "wax sealer" rim, featuring the stenciled advertising, "GRAHAM & STONE. / GEN. MERCHANDISE. / JACKSON C.H. / W. VA." Freehand stripe decoration above and below. Includes old tin canning lid. Provenance: From a fifty-year West Virginia collection. Light surface wear. Chips to interior of rim and inner wax sealer rim. H 10 1/4".
