Two-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Harvest Jug, OH origin, circa 1880, beehive-form with flattened top surmounted by an oval handle, the shoulder with wide and narrow pouring spouts applied to opposing sides. Shoulder decorated with a stenciled "2" within a wreath. Heavily-brushed cobalt highlights to handle. Very nice condition. A chip and minor wear to smaller spout. A minor in-the-firing fissure in underside. Large salt drips to surface and an in-the-firing piece of clay adhered at base. Some water glass staining to surface. H 14".
