One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Bird Decoration, Stamped "SATTERLEE & MORY / FORT EDWARD, N.Y.," circa 1875, semi-ovoid jug with squared spout, decorated with a slip-trailed design of a crested bird perched on a stylized branch. Cobalt highlights to maker's mark and capacity mark. Very nice condition. A salt drip to base and two salt drips to underside. Minor spout chips, one of which occurred in the firing. Some minor staining. A few very minor in-the-firing contact marks to surface. H 13 1/2".
