One-and-a-Half-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "R.C.R. / PHILA," Richard C. Remmey, Philadelphia, PA, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled rim, brush-decorated with two tulips emanating from the base. Swag decoration to collar. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. In-the-making dryness to surface. An 11" long sealed, inverted T-shaped crack from rim. Two other short lines appear to the left of this damage and another short line appears at the base, extending 1" onto underside. Impressed with "R.C.R. / PHILA." maker's mark near base. A glazed-over chip where spout meets rim. A small, glazed-over rim chip on reverse. A small rim chip, which has been sealed. H 12".
