Two Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jars, New York State origin, second half 19th century, a two-gallon jar with stylized slip-trailed floral decoration, stamped "ALBANY.NY;" paired with a two-gallon cylindrical jug, brush-decorated with a stylized design resembling a pinwheel, stamped "GEDDES.N.Y." Jar with a 5" Y-shaped line near base on reverse, some fry to cobalt, a handle chip, an in-the-firing base nick and small glazed-over base chip, Jug with a crack through handle, two minor spout nicks, a 2" flake to underside, a short surface crack to rim on reverse, and short in-the-firing surface line to interior of rim on front, and some light surface wear and light staining. H (of jug) 14 1/2".
