One-Gallon Cobalt-Decorated Stoneware Jug, Stamped "C. CROLIUS / MANUFACTURER / MANHATTAN-WELLS / NEW-YORK," early 19th century, ovoid jug with tooled spout, decorated with a circular cobalt spot covering the maker's mark and highlights to the handle terminals. Large spout chips. A 3" line extending from neck to shoulder. Spattering of in-the-firing residue to shoulder area. An in-the-firing iron ping to handle. Some small, shallow chipping to base. Faint traces of whitish residue from use to body. H 12".
