One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Cobalt Highlights, Stamped "P. CROSS," Hartford, CT origin, circa 1806-1808, ovoid jug with footed base and heavily-tooled spout, decorated with cobalt highlights to the maker's mark and handle terminals. A lesser-seen, early Hartford mark. A horizontal hairline around most of jug's neck. A minor chip to top of spout. A small piece of in-the-firing adhered clay to top of handle. A minor in-the-firing lime ping to shoulder on reverse. H 14 1/2".
