Very Rare Glazed Redware Jar, Inscribed "Made by C.R. Parker / Greenwood / Col. Co. Pa / 34," 19th century, cylindrical jar with footed base, tapered shoulder, and narrow, flaring opening, the surface covered in a lead and manganese glaze. Underside incised with inscription by potter, C.R. Parker, of Greenwood Township, Columbia County, Pennsylvania, followed by the number, "34." Literature: This jar is likely the same piece mentioned on p. 23 of Lasansky's Central Pennsylvania Redware Pottery 1780- 1904. Two rim chips and some minor rim nicks. A 4" crack on underside continuing in a curved orientation onto the body. Minor surface wear. H 10 3/8".
