Three Pieces of Stoneware, Norton Family, Bennington, VT, second half 19th century, a small-sized advertising jug, stamped "RALPH GOLDSMITH / BENNINGTON VT," circa 1880; a one-gallon cylindrical crock with slip-trailed "tornado" design, stamped "E. NORTON & CO / BENNINGTON VT," late 19th century; and a four-quart batter pail with tin spout cover, inscribed "4" with cobalt-highlighted maker's mark, "E & L P NORTON / BENNINGTON VT:." Jug in excellent condition with minor staining and teal paint added to maker's mark. Norton crock with a large rim chip, minor nicks to interior of rim, and staining. Batter pail with chips to handle at base on reverse, two tiny nicks to one pierced clay tab at shoulder, and staining. H (of jug) 8 1/4".
