Rare Two-Gallon Stoneware Jar, Stamped "A.L. HISSONG / HUNTINGDON," PA origin, circa 1881-1885, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, flattened rim, and salt-glazed surface, impressed with the short-lived Huntingdon maker's mark of Austin L. Hissong at shoulder. Provenance: Estate of author and historian, Nancy Shedd, Petersburg, PA. A 1 1/2" rim chip. Otherwise excellent condition. H 8 1/2".
