Five-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Stamped "H.H ZIGLER / NEWVILLE, PA", circa 1852-1865, ovoid jar with tooled shoulder, squared rim, and oversized lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a sweeping stem bearing three flowers and graduated leaves. Impressed with H.H. Zigler maker's mark at shoulder. Bottom edge with a 1 1/8" chip and a few other small chips. A tiny handle chip. A small in-the-firing surface chip to shoulder on front. Wear to interior of rim. H 15".
