One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Leaf Decoration, Baltimore, MD, circa 1880, ovoid pitcher with flared collar and semi-rounded rim, decorated with three large brushed leaves around the midsection. Spout flanked by brushed swags. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Excellent, essentially as-made condition with some in-the-firing dark in-the-firing surface crazing, minor in-the-firing flaws, some wear to edge of spout, and minor nicks to molding at base of collar.
