Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Lidded Jar with Applied Grapes Motif, attributed to Arie Meaders, Cleveland, GA, circa 1965, squat-shaped, ovoid jar decorated on the front and reverse with an applied clay decoration of a grape cluster flanked by leaves. Surface covered in a light, gray-green alkaline glaze with olive leaves. Original lid with large, bulb-shaped finial, the surface covered in a whitish glaze. Jar in excellent condition. Lid with two firing cracks to underside, one of which is partially visible on top surface, in otherwise excellent condition. H (including lid) 6 3/4".
