Three-Gallon Stoneware Jar with Cobalt Foliate Decoration, Capital District, NY, early 19th century, ovoid jar with footed, heavily-tooled shoulder, and applied lug handles, decorated on the front and reverse with a brushed foliate design in Crolius style, including unusual striping. Brushed cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Heavy chipping to base. A chip to interior of rim. A minor chip to exterior of rim.
