One-Gallon Stoneware Pitcher with Cobalt Floral Decoration, Baltimore, MD origin, circa 1850, ovoid pitcher with footed base and tooled rim, decorated around the body with three large, brushed fan-shaped floral motifs. Cobalt swag decoration to collar and spout. Brushed cobalt stripe to rim. Cobalt highlights to handle terminals. Restoration to spout. A 3/4" base chip. A very faint Y-shaped line at base, continuing a short distance onto underside. Faint lines to base area, continuing onto underside. One of these lines measures 3 1/2", extending diagonally from base on reverse.
