Four-Gallon Alkaline-Glazed Stoneware Jar, Edgefield District, SC, circa 1840, ovoid jar with semi-rounded rim and applied, raised-tab handles, the surface covered in light, gray-green alkaline glaze. A sealed 3 1/2" crack on underside, continuing 6" up side of jar, where it forms a Y. Otherwise excellent condition.
