One-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Incised Figural Decoration, Ohio origin, circa 1835, ovoid jug with tapered spout, decorated with an incised folk art design of a caricatured figure with curled shoes, holding a pipe to his lips and using a cane, and a seated figure with long nose and curled tail, reaching for a dog. Jug in as-made condition with an in-the-firing chip to top of spout, an in-the-firing chip to handle, and an in-the-firing chip below handle.
