Scarce Shenandoah Valley Redware Vase with Copper and Manganese Decoration, Stamped "WINCHESTER VA", attributed to Theodore "Thedy" Fleet, Round Hill Pottery, Frederick County, VA, circa 1930, ovoid vase with tall collar accented with a wavy line, the surface decorated with splashed copper and manganese and covered in a light lead glaze. Underside impressed "WINCHESTER VA". This vase, made by Thedy Fleet, is decorated in the manner of Strasburg "fancyware" or "multi-glaze", a style of pottery he produced while working for the Eberlys decades earlier. A shallow 7/8" rim chip on reverse. Other light rim wear. A 5/8" glaze flake to side of vase. Other minor surface wear. H 7 7/8".
