Two-Gallon Stoneware Jug with Saint Paul, Minnesota Advertising, Stamped "PEORIA POTTERY CO." and "PEORIA POTTERY", Peoria, IL origin, late 19th century, with raised medial ridge and Albany-slip-glazed surface, impressed on the shoulder "NOYES BROS & CUTLER, / DRUGGISTS, / SAINT PAUL .". Base impressed "PEORIA POTTERY CO.". Underside with additional lightly-stamped "PEORIA POTTERY" maker's mark. In 1886, the firm of Noyes Brothers and Cutler, importers and wholesale druggists, was located in a five story building at Sixth and Sibley Streets in Saint Paul, MN, and, by 1906, was the largest wholesale drug firm in the Northwestern U.S. Excellent condition with very minor surface wear.
